Document Preparation


Landlord can ask for various document about your background.


The following is a list of document that you may need to prepare.  Some landlord can require additional or less document depending on the landlord and/or your situation.


  • Credit report
  • Rental application (containing some of your background information)
  • Letter of employment with recent pay stubs
  • Government issued photo ID
  • Reference letter from previous landlord 
  • References (like your employer and/or friends)
  • Bank statement or proof of sufficient fund for paying rent
  • Post-dated cheques for monthly rent payment


As a new comer, some landlord may require slightly different documennt proof depending on your situation.
